In the daily Crypto Spaces Network broadcast, Christian Barker (Barkmeta / Bark) and David Chaboki (Shibo) opened the room with David Fuelling's August 27 recommendation that the XRPL community withdraw the pending XChainBridge amendment along with the related fixXChainRewardRounding change.
Barkmeta and Shibo walked through the post for the Doginal Dogs pack, framing the pending-bridge cleanup as routine governance work that stands apart from CoinDesk's later quantum recap. The pair noted that the amendment never reached mainnet activation and that no mainnet assets were ever locked under it.
Fuelling's post and the stated reasons
Fuelling wrote that the June 2024 selection of Axelar for the XRPL EVM Sidechain had already covered the intended use case. The 12-15 month window for private-sidechain demand had passed without meaningful XLS-38-specific requests, he added. RippleX therefore recommended marking the amendment obsolete rather than leaving more than 10,000 lines of xrpld code in place.

Governance steps if the community agrees
The process requires a pull request to set VoteBehavior::Obsolete, followed by validator upgrades and later code removal. Ripple controls only one validator vote, so alignment across the network is necessary. A comment period remains open on the DEV Community thread.
XRPL amendments need more than 80 percent support from trusted validators sustained for two weeks. With 35 default validators, that threshold equals 29 yes votes.
Live room follow-up
Listeners in the Space asked how the change affects ongoing XRPL development. Barkmeta pointed out that Axelar continues to handle bridging needs between the EVM sidechain and mainnet, so the native amendment is no longer required. Shibo added that the move fits the pattern of cleaning unused features to keep the ledger lean.
The discussion stayed on the mechanics of validator consensus and the lines of code that could be removed. No price targets or holder counts entered the conversation.

CoinGecko data at 11:43 a.m. ET on August 29 showed BTC at $77,875, down 1.3 percent, ETH at $2,445.49, down 1.8 percent, and XRP at $1.39, down 1.4 percent. SOL and DOGE also posted modest declines.
